Energy drinks have become popular over the last few years. The American Academy of Pediatrics state that energy drinks pose potential health risks because of the stimulants they contain and should never be consumed by children or adolescents. Energy drink overdose can cause seizures, stroke, and sudden death. There is no therapeutic benefit to consuming energy drinks.

Keep track of your prescription medications. Nonmedical use of prescription painkillers is on the rise. The death toll from overdoses has more than tripled in the past decade.
Even teenagers need immunizations! The Tdap booster is required for all students and should have been given in the 6th grade. HPV and meningitis vaccines are recommended especially for college bound seniors.
Noise induced hearing loss is usually caused by exposure to excessively loud sounds and cannot be medically or surgically corrected. Even a mild hearing loss can profoundly effect communication, school performance, language comprehension, and speech. Reduce the risk of hearing loss by turning down the volume of music systems, limit exposure to loud noises, and use ear protection when prolonged exposure is necessary.
