  • Here is a comparison between the New SAT and the ACT.
  • Staunton River High School will host a college fair on September 17th from 6:30-8:00PM.
  • Heritage High School will host a college fair on September 12th from 6-8PM.  This is a wonderful opportunity to gather information from over a hundred colleges and universities.
  • PSAT Signups are happening now for LHS students Please listen to the following details: 
    • 9th graders: You will be taking the PSAT on October 10th. You do not need to take any action to reserve your test, and the test will be free for you.  
    • 10th graders: You must turn in your yellow forms by Friday, October 31 to opt in to take the PSAT on October 10th. Your test will be free, but you must turn in your opt-in form to reserve a test.
    • 11th graders: You must pay $16 for your PSAT test reservation.  Please see Ms. Keen in the main office and turn in $16 cash or check made out to Liberty High School by Friday, September 7.

  • The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), in collaboration with the Virginia Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, MADD Virginia, and Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, is pleased to provide Power of Parents, a brochure focused on preventing youth underage drinking. This brochure is for all parents of seniors to commemorate the senior year and preparation for graduation. Research indicates that parents are the key to preventing youth underage drinking, and teens are significantly less likely to drink if they have a parent who delivers a clear and consistent message that underage drinking is unacceptable. To further ensure our students have a safe and healthy senior yea, we are providing high schools across Virginia with critical brochures to support parent conversations with their seniors about underage drinking and DUI prevention.  More resources can be found at
