Ski U Mah! My name is Erik R. Olson, and I am the counselor working with students whose last names
end in O – Z. I am in my 10th year at Liberty High School, and I thoroughly enjoy helping the students and families of Bedford in their academic pursuits. A native Minnesotan and a 2000 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, I am loyal to the old maroon & gold (NOT BROOKVILLE!). I loved marching trombone in a Big Ten Marching Band, and never missed a Gopher Hockey game at Mariucci Arena. Attending a Big Ten University was exciting and novel, and I also participated in an exchange program, allowing me to spend one year of my undergraduate study at the University of Washington in Seattle (Go Huskies!). I moved to Virginia in 2001 to complete my Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Regent University in Virginia Beach. Living at the beach was great for a time, but the Blue Ridge Mountains beckoned upon graduation in 2004 and I began my career in Bedford County Public Schools in the Fall of 2004.
My greatest joys in life are spending time with my wife and two daughters, riding the roller coasters at Busch Gardens, traveling home to Minnesota to spend time with loved ones, hiking the surrounding mountains, playing sports, and serving the families of Blue Ridge Community Church in Children’s Ministry. Please contact me with any questions or needs that may arise throughout the school year. I count it a joy and a privilege to work with the students and families of Liberty High School. Thank you for allowing me to serve your kids!
