Dawn Verhoeff, Assistant Principal
Dawn Verhoeff, Assistant Principal
Ms. Dawn Verhoeff is excited to join the Liberty High School administrative team. She served the division as the Supervisor of Science, World Languages, and Gifted since February of 2016 and as an assistant principal for Staunton River High School from 2010-2016. Earlier in her career, Ms. Verhoeff worked for Franklin County Public Schools where she was an Assistant Principal at Burnt Chimney and Boones Mill Elementary Schools for the 2009-2010 school year. Prior to becoming an administrator, Ms. Verhoeff taught Biology, Chemistry, and AP Chemistry for Franklin County and Henry County Schools from 1997 to 2009. She also was an adjunct professor for Patrick Henry Community College from 2003-2006.
After graduation from high school in 1986, Ms. Verhoeff choose to serve in the United States Air Force with the 363rd Tactical Air Command. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Professional Science and Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 1997 from Ferrum College and earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and University in 2006. Ms. Verhoeff has completed all course work for her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies through Virginia Tech and desires to one day complete her dissertation.
