MINUTEMEN GOOD NEWS

  • Jimmy Blake - Support Person of the YearCongratulations to Mr. Jimmy Blake our first ever Employee Support Person of the Year for Liberty High School!  Jimmy Blake joined the custodial crew at LHS in 1979. He didn't think he'd be staying there long, as he was in the process of obtaining his credentials to be a truck driver. But he soon found that he loved his job and has stayed there ever since. As head custodian, Jimmy manages his staff, works with the school to make sure anything that's broken is back online in quick fashion, ensures that all the buildings are cleaned each day and organizes work schedules to make sure all special events are covered.
  • Congratulations to Mr. T. Fox, Liberty High Schools Teacher of the Year for 2018-2019!  Mr. Fox is one our of vocational education teachers, but he is so much more than that.  In his class he provides life lessons that extend beyond the classroom.
  • We have such an amazing staff at Liberty High School, the awards keep coming in for our amazing teachers. Congratulations to Emilee Dunton who was selected as on of the top teachers in our area by Lynchburg Living.  Coach Dunton is our Lady Minutemen Basketball coach and a special education teacher at Liberty High School.
  • Mr. Jeff SteeleIt is with great pleasure that Liberty High School announces that Mr. Jeff Steele has been selected to be a recipient of a 2017 Recognition In Science Education (RISE) award from the Virginia Association of Science Teachers (VAST).  Congratulations to Mr. Steele on being recognized for advancing excellence in science education in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The VAST receives many nominations and all were worthy of recognition.  Only one science educator may be selected in each category, and VAST are pleased to award Mr. Steele in the Physics category.
