Time to get moving!
We’ve all been cooped up inside for the past few months. Now is a good time to get out and start walking and being active. Enjoy the weather! Make sure before starting any exercise regimen you properly stretch and warm up. Drink plenty of water during exercise to prevent dehydration. Protect you skin with sunscreen and wear the proper shoes/gear.
Preparing for Spring Break
If you are traveling on spring break please be aware of your surroundings and don’t get distracted. Don’t be another statistic. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among healthy travelers. Remember the basics of safe driving-wear seatbelts, maintain the speed limit, and avoid distractions like talking on the phone or texting. Always travel in groups. Never leave anyone alone. Be safe and have fun!
Beware of Zika!
More and more cases of the Zika virus are being reported in the U.S. Symptoms of the virus are mild fever, rash, joint and muscle pain, headache, and red eyes. Prevent Zika by preventing mosquito bites. Use insect repellent as directed, wear long sleeve shirts and long pants (especially children), use screens on windows and doors, and empty any item that has standing water at least once a week.
